Stick Agate, or Needle Agate, comes from mines in Ankara, Turkey. It is a type of agate with stick-like shapes inside. These formations are surrounded by agate. This happens when agate fills a space in a rock. The rock already has minerals inside. The agate in these Turkish stones replaced other crystals. It formed as a pseudomorph after aragonite or sagenite.
